Denver is one of the best places in Colorado to catch the fall foliage, especially later in the season. From early October to mid-November, those vibrant fall colors come alive in the Mile High city. It’s a yearly transition that Denverites love to experience. But, those fall colors are not always consistent across every neighborhood. There are a few that can be seen as the best neighborhoods in Denver to watch the seasonal transition. We put together a list of the best places to not only experience autumn in Denver, but to also help you explore our wonderful city.

Here are 3 of the best neighborhoods in Denver to catch the changing colors this fall.

City Park

City Park is one of the best neighborhoods in Denver in general! This outstanding neighborhood has plenty to see and even more to do. City Park is the home of both the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and the Denver Zoo, two of the best attractions of Denver. In addition, the neighborhood has a number of amazing restaurants like Denver Biscuit CO., Kitchen Table: BBQ & Comfort Food, and Little Beast Street Food. The neighborhood is also home to, of course, the largest park in Denver! With multiple water sources and scenic trails cutting through City Park, it’s the perfect location in Denver for peeping the gorgeous autumnal colors.

Sloan's Lake

The neighborhood surrounding Sloan’s Lake is one of the most unique neighborhoods on our list. There are a wide number of great places to grab a drink in the surrounding area. Sloan’s Lake is within walking distance of Hogshead Brewery, Little Machine Beer, and Joyride Brewing Company, some of the best breweries in Colorado. The hip and vibrant community lights up numerous times every year with great events and festivals. Plus, the neighborhood is practically within spitting distance of downtown Denver. What really makes Sloan’s Lake one of the best neighborhoods in Denver to watch fall colors is the lake itself. Sloan’s Lake is the second-largest park in Denver, at 177 acres. It is surrounded by a plethora of trees on all sides and is completed with gorgeous views of the mountains. What could be a better spot to watch the colors change.

Washington Park

Wash Park is one of the best neighborhoods in Denver and one of the most popular. It’s easy to see why. Wash Park is just a few blocks away from two incredible shopping districts: Old South Gaylord and South Pearl Street. Both of these nearby shopping districts offer some of the best local eating options in Denver. In addition, they have a vast array of incredible galleries specialty shops, and high-end clothing stores. The neighborhood is home to a number of great craft breweries, coffee shops, and the like. Wash Park features two gardens and two lakes with a 2-mile gravel path through it. The park is also packed with vast expanses of green grass and a wide assortment of tall trees. All the different forms of foliage make Wash Park one of the best neighborhoods in Denver to take a stroll with the family to enjoy the fall colors.
